Summary

I am an engaging, poised, and stimulating communicator capable of projecting enthusiasm and warmth.

I have a strong sense of urgency and am driven to get things done with an emphasis on working with and through people in the process.  I understand people well and use that understanding effectively to persuade others to act.

I can be impatient for results; particularly when delays are caused by bureaucracy or overthinking.  I am a confident and venturesome “doer” and decision-maker who is able to delegate details and authority when necessary.  I am a self-starter who is skillful at training and developing others.  I apply pressure for results if needed, but in doing so, my style is more “selling” than “telling”.

I am at ease and self-assured with groups or in making new contacts.  I can be gregarious and extraverted.  I have an invigorating impact on people and am always promoting ideas in a general sense.  I learn and react quickly and work at a faster-than-average pace.  I am able to adapt quickly to change and variety in the work but can become drained over time if required to work primarily with repetitive routines and details.

The 6 Types of working Genius

The Evangelizing Innovator

Generating new ideas and convincing others of an idea's merit gives me real joy and energy.  The following two "working genius" traits drive my curiosity, confidence, and passion...

GALVANIZING
The Genius of Galvanizing is about rallying and motivating people, often around projects, ideas, or initiatives. People
with the gift of Galvanizing derive joy and energy from inspiring and persuading others to take action to get
things moving, even if it involves convincing them to rethink or change their plans.

INVENTION
The Genius of Invention is about coming up with novel ideas and solutions to solve problems and address issues.
Invention involves creativity and original thinking, often with little direction. People with this genius are confident
and inspired by a problem that has no apparent solution, and they derive energy and joy from getting the
opportunity to take a first crack at coming up with a new idea.

Leadership Style

The following are my key leadership traits…

  • Trusted Partner: I focus on being someone that others can trust and depend upon to provide factual information, deliver consistent and dependable support, and take ownership of their success.  I make it a priority to build and nurture relationships.  I am collaborative and prefer to include teammates in planning and ideation.  I believe what you help create, you own.
  • Coach: I invest in the growth and the professional development of my team. This entails first understanding one’s talents, skills, and knowledge then helping them to mature those abilities to realize their greatest potential.  I encourage participation and diverse thought.  I reward ideas and creative thinking.  I do all this through fun, mental challenges, and personal accountability.
  • Strategist: I am highly skilled at discerning hidden pathways and opportunities then developing a plan on how to navigate them to the organization’s benefit. I am energized by the potential that lies ahead and engaging others in that vision of a better future.  I think broadly and challenge status quo.

Management Style

I am results oriented and not a micromanager. I will help staff understand where we need to go and why, then get out of their way so they can use their abilities to determine the best path to the solution.  That being said, I don’t leave them hanging, either.  I am there to assist whenever they need me.  Structurally, I align people’s talents, skills, and knowledge to the best role for them.  I ensure staff are current on their performance with regular one-on-ones and updated on organizational progress via monthly All Hands meetings.

Management approach...

Align: Focus on matching talents, skills, and knowledge to job requirements

Define: Expectations, Objectives, Benefits

Equip: Provide information and tools necessary to act

Develop: Support continuous advancement of skills, experience

Accountability: Set clear expectations, negotiate deliverables and timelines, require ownership of commitments
